The Foundation works to close the gender gap in cardiovascular care by funding initiatives that educate women about heart disease risks and support groundbreaking research aimed at improving heart health, specifically for women.

Why:

Heart disease is the number one cause of death among women in the US, causing more deaths than all cancers combined. With this grim statistic in mind, the Dr. Julie A Hansen Foundation has partnered with the Intermountain Healthcare Foundation to support women’s cardiovascular health education and women’s cardiovascular health research. Along with Intermountain Healthcare’s vision, Julie is committed to addressing the gender gaps in cardiovascular care across the lifespan.
